1 – Tell us a bit about yourself
I am currently an Associate Director for EY Breakthrough Incentives – We specialise in helping SME’s claim back “Cash for Innovation” – R&D Tax Relief
Member of South Wales Police as part of the Independent Advisory Group to help with community issues, diversity, race & equality.
R&D/Grant advisor for a start up company – Real Ice based in North Wales.

2 – How and when did you get started?
My working career started straight after university with working in variety of businesses from takeaways, restaurants, telemarketing, then securing more secure positions with major companies such as British Gas, BT & Western Union. During my journey, I began getting a taste of winning business and securing contracts so I knew my skill set and knowledge in sales and business management was my main passion and drive in taking my career to the next level. With all that I have acquired working in different roles at major companies, it has helped secure my current position as Associate Director at EY Breakthrough Incentives
3 – What has been your most satisfying moment so far?
I guess securing my current role and title for EY Breakthrough Incentives was very satisfying. After being on furlough for 8 months, then made redundant, looking for employment was extremely difficult due to covid, with limited jobs, and many others in my situation too. Having now the opportunity to work for one of the Big 4 global financial firms which has so much career opportunity, with best employee support is priceless.
4 – What motivates/drives you?
My main drive is my family. I have 2 little children who as well as drive me around the bend, they give me the strength and motivation to not only provide the best in life for them but to become a strong role model, a leader for them.
5 – What advice would you give yourself at the start of your career?
No matter what role or position you’re in, always see it as the best role ever, never doubt it and belittle your self. Always be humble in everything you do in life, be grateful with every penny you earn and respect the advice given and learn from your mistakes.
