1 – Tell us a bit about yourself
As Cloud Programme Manager at a large IT distribution center I look after the different cloud vendor programs that run through our cloud platform (AWS, Microsoft, VMware)
A large portion of my job is problem solving and foreseeing any problems or issues that might happen. Then creating and implementing a strategy to fix them. I work across numerous different teams in the business as well as helping customers onboard to cloud computing.
2 – How and when did you get started?
I started in 2013 as a Quote and Configuration specialist. In that role I took a special interest in cloud computing. Taking time to understand how it worked. With the support of my manager I achieved different qualifications to support my learning eventually being promoted to Product Manager then Programme Manager.
3 – What has been your most satisfying moment so far?
By far it has been the on boarding, optimisation and of the largest cloud vendor in the Uk for my company. So many moving parts to learn and adapt to. It took a lot of time and frustration to get it right. But through perseverance and a lot of help from wider teams it was on boarded successfully.
4 – What motivates/drives you?
I enjoy creating processes and services that give the best possible experience for our customers. This allows us to work in conjunction for customers instead of being simply someone they buy for. We can then help them optimise for time saving, cost saving and ensure there end user is getting the best possible service.
5 – What advice would you give yourself at the start of your career?
Don’t be afraid to ask the stupid question. You will be surprised how many other people don’t know the answer.
